The ARES project and MAME

We spent some time this weekend working on ARES and it is very close to being finished. Unfortunately we cracked the Lexan we are using as the table top while we were trying to cut it. Once we figure that out we just need to stain it and it will be done. For those of you that don't know, ARES is a project we started last year to create a 4 player Many Arcade Machine Emulator (MAME) coffee table. We designed it and redesigned it many times and finally settled on 4 controller boxes, 3 LCD monitors and a shuttle PC. We hope to have the entire project done this summer; more info about ARES can be found on GameTruth.

Now that we are closing in on the finish line for the hardware aspect we need to work on getting the shuttle PC setup to play the thousands of games that are available. We are currently trying out a few different options, including some live cds, and we will let you know how it works out.
